roots for bloom bring in four new faces for the seventh release. we see label boss jamie trench deliver an edit and remix of daniel curpen - daddy was a thug, and david moran teams up with albert vogt for their track cut loose and then collabs with mark crumbs for tha bassment. the a side sees jamie bring a rolling dub edit to daniels original and then takes things a little darker for the a2 remix. david morans cut loose shows off the vocal talents of albert vogt which grooves along seductively, then tha bassment as expected brings things a little harder and more for those after hour spots.

there is some disco cockiness right here. the right amount of funky with a pinch of house and many other things that well discover as we peel back the layers with ease.
basement floor return with a deadly strike from the house/techno underground. kicking things off is tim schumachers soul phrase (echo mix) a jacking, raw dancefloor destroyer that knows no quarter. son of sound steps up to the plate to deliver a cosmic workout driven by a thunderous disco beat (check for his forthcoming 12inch on district 13!!).
only few copies! amazing piece of house!! future in sound presents its new face late in 2013, with its first release of the year. reaching its 10th edition in december 2012, the new year started with fis preparing for big things! future in sound kicked off its own network >listen & discover< bringing music from only underground/upcoming artists and labels from all around the place.in addition to that, fisr will be on vinyl! fisr011 is one hell of a package. following some detroit, electronica, tech, more electronica and some minimal techno (hailing from germany of course), we land right back into the house of house, with some french summer loving vibes by the talented florian muller project.
tis the season to remain anonymous it seems. the guessing games continue here with the unknown prankster. we cant tell you who it is, because that would render the artists chosen title useless. and he might be slightly miffed at. if it is even a he ... what you do need to know is that these two tight little magic numbers should not be missed! we will leave you with the clips so you can make your own mind up ... needless to say, you might recognise one or two things here.
next up on visionquest is the second single from wareikas righteous and raw wternal album. all little things, here in its club mix incarnation, is another example of the trios hefty musicianship and unbridled eccentric energy, where jazzy textures and pulsating grooves build up with a rising melody to the powerful vocal drop. on the first remix visionquest & nikko gibler develop expansive piano melodies alongside an elasticated bassline and vocal snippets. fred p reigns over the b-side with his raw, deep hypnotic reshape and warmed up spirit dub. this is a distinctly diverse remix package from a rich artistic source.
the allstar collaboration continues, following the previous bestselling golf channel releases from these two heavyweights rhythm odyssey is a production alias of the one and only dean meredith (chicken lips, goat dance etc) here he’s teamed up with dr dunks (eric duncan, rub-n-tug) with a view to concocting the very finest analogue assembled proto house and modern disco. ‘saffron’ has been ripping up floors since a handful of promos surfaced before summer in insistent piano motif powered along by beefed up but never bullying drums ‘night addict’ on the flip pitches things down and links up a bubbling acidic arpeggiator bass with dismembered vocals and light touch keys. a bouncy little palate cleanser after the spice bomb on the a.
audiolith - musical luckybag with a masterplan. ten years from now, back in 2003 the label started as musical one-man-show without any kind of business plan. a decade has passed since then and audiolith grew into a proper company with two associates, employees, office, online mailorder store and not less than 200 releases under its belt. but still some things never change, especially when it comes to release politics. no matter what ever style comes in whenever the boss likes it there will be a release. no compromise, no fear of failure that is what audiolith is all about and lars lewerenz is, has been and stays the musically approving authority, no matter if we talk electropunk, drum n bass, indie or punkrock, hiphop, trap, deep. emotin-driven house or electropop. his widely varied taste is the reason why audiolith still remains fresh and surprising a musical luckybag, but one with a masterplan. now the year is 2013 and audiolith is still loved by many - and hated by some for giving away golden gifts to fans instead of waiting for presents itself.
if there is one thing in this world that is certain, it is that things change. and in the life of one dance producer with a new release on sheffields shabby doll, there have been transitions aplenty. with a switch from garage to house, a move from doncaster to london, and a change of identity from ryan aitchison to mella dee, his spacious four- to-the-floor sound has emerged from a state of constant flux. and yet… the more things change, the more they stay the same. *things dont change* is the name of mella dees new shabby doll ep, and when you tune into the title tracks compulsive twitch, you can hear the echo of his south yorkshire antecedents coming through.
experimenting with analog synthesizers and obscure percussion instruments helped kyson create the melancholic atmosphere of >the waters way<, the title of his new lp and first with friends of friends music a reflection of his time living in the long and harsh european winter. the new kyson live show, debuting this fall, is energetic as well as intricate. the three-piece setup incorporates live drums, analog synthesizers, vocals and samplers. accompanied by scott van manen (drums, samplers) and sam rogers (keys, vocals).
tom withers aka klute is unlike any other drum & bass producer in the scene today. from his entry into the music business fronting the late 80s punk band the stupids and his early jungle releases on legendary label certificate 18, klute has always set himself apart from the pack never afraid to do things that little bit differently. 15 years in and his story continues as he prepares to unleash a staggering seventh studio album, *the draft*, another accomplished piece of musical ambition from a producer who never fails to disappoint.
comes as red coloured double 12 inch vinyl.
with his debut album prepped for november release, a sagittariun drops a taster of things to come, in the form of the >across the celestial sphere ep<. >clusters< rolls out another dusty breakbeat in perhaps his most dancefloor-centric offering yet. >fire sign< is a warm and jazzy slice of techno, whilst >the dna of life< is a moody, industrial electro join
first release on supalatino, a fantastic new 12 inch compilation of five hard-to-find floor-friendly latin flavoured club monsters brought to you by the people behind the respected supafrico imprint. kicking things off in style is the truly awesome >meu amigo blanco< from brazilian songstress marcia maria. originally released as an impossible-to-find lp track from 1978, this track on its own is worth the price of the 12inch but theres four equally brilliant tracks to follow. first is ray barrettos brilliant eight-minute latin version of the stevie wonder classic *pastime paradise* followed by the uplifting vibe of spirit of love from the king of latin piano eddie palmieri. next up is the wonderful brazilian fusion of paulinho da costas >love til the end of time< which became a classic on early eighties jazz-funk scene and then rounding off this great comp we get yambus latin disco crossover cover of the classic >sunny< produced by the legendary milton hamilton. top quality - dont sleep!

ol aka oleg buyanov is well known in his native russia already. he has a background extending from releases on faces records and scuzzy lo-fi hip hop beats on labels like error broadcast, idle and fine grains dating back to 2007. more recently though he has been increasingly turned on by dance floor focussed sounds and as such, here come two missives on russias capital bass (which also hosts a popular bass and garage night in moscow and has done since 2006).

the exaltics debuts on abstract acid with a very special and personal lp titled >das heise experiment<, the project originates from the exaltics desire to take things a notch deeper, while pushing the acid a step into more menacing and quite devilish territory. for those that appreciate such dastardly dark styles, well, you will not be disappointed with this album. coarse acid coupled with sublime soundscapes and ubiquitously haunting melodies make for the perfect combination. limited edition vinyl pressing
it is something of tradition for tosca to get their albums remixed. indeed, they once released a record comprised entirely of 13 mixes ofone song, 2002s *different tastes of honey*, variations on *honey* from 1999s *suzuki*. it is a way of keeping things fresh, injecting someuncertainty into proceedings, knocking things out of balance in order to check how they should be re-aligned. after releasing *odeon* earlier this year, tosca comes back with *tlapa - the odeon remixes*. *tlapa* meaning, this life arouses pure adventure. the remixes come from bredon moeller, joyce muniz, siler city, ltj experience, beat pharmacy, marlow & truby, sephane lefrancois, afg aka antye greie and rodney hunter. the double vinyl comes with a cd-copy included.
a future nu disco classic from italys the zars on chicagos own smooth agent records. the zars are producers alexander giampaolo tessarolo & alessandro la padula. their sound is somewhere between classic deep house and nu disco. we just call this good music. the uks ooft! kicks things off with a deep and atmospheric mix with a touch of acid followed by the original mix. b/w a luminodisco remix with a soulful and more organic mix plus the bonus cut saxa rubina.
another handy 12 inch of dj tools, de- and re-constructed from the raw materials of james holdens *the inheritors* album and thoroughly road-tested in his own dj sets. this time it is the turn of trippy instrumental album interlude *the illuminations*. in its 12 inch version club incarnation, holdens mystical cascading arpeggios are juxtaposed with a skittering detroitian thump to cater for a multitude of bewilderment-inducing dancefloor moments the world over. the drumsolo strips things back to functional old school techno basics as we get to eavesdrop on holden jamming with his modified dr-110 drum machine. finally, the extended arpsolo draws out the melodies of the original into a dreamy boards of canada-esque bonus indulgence.
sometimes, things can be worth waiting for, and the rift valley by rebelski is a project that has lingered in the cadenza psyche (and record boxes) for well over a year. already a staple in the dj sets of luciano and other cadenza personnel, the piece finally gets a full release with remixes from lee van dowski, and luciano himself this summer.

nice price deal !!! finest minimalistic groove & kick monsters! only for djs. the colombian duo jose m. & tacoman have recorded on top labels like material, area remote and sphera records and have written three tracks for trapez ltd now. >what are you watching< is a tricky traxter with a cool swing programming to keep you happy on your feet and moving. this is very much a beat track but has an outstanding groove that makes it so special. raw and streetwise it makes sure things are always going fine. one of these tracks that are loose and tight at the same time. a perfect alliance.>warehouse< seems at first less funky but convinces with an hypnotic aspect and a congenial feeling to it. >kick this< is similar to >what are you watching< a strong groover with sounds in the background and a catchy vocal line. all three tracks are cool and perfect for groove addicts.
pow! belgian duo goldffinch are back on saigon recordings, bringing things back to where they should be: the dancefloor. the duo of yoann and gilles, from brussells, belgium, launched themselves swiftly to the forefront of their chosen electronic music style with a series of unmissable dancefloor weapons on labels like jackmasters numbers, claude von strokes dirty bird, saigon, airflex labs and audio culture. four new tracks on an ep entitled the volume, guess what the first track is called ... (yes, we dont do cleverly named eps). the lead track is smashing up airwaves/dancefloors around the world to the extent that we do sincerely hope that no injuries may have occurred due to any aggro-dance moves (we are not liable). support thus far has come from the likes of paleman, loefah, mary anne hobbs, and benji b, amongst others. goldffinch/saigon fully endorse the use of peacock related imagery.

ltd 2013 repress !!
illusion recordings is bringing an absolute stomper from the appropriately titled ny stomp with a track called >the ny house track<. a massive track inspired by new york, jersey house music and designed to get every party rocking! ny stomp is a special project by gerd (clone/4lux) who made this track to add to his live set with no intention to release it. it was just a cut made for his live sets and done as an hommage to the early days of ny and nj house. however after playing this at a party from the illusion guys in leeds he got tortured by the guys to make him release it... and lets be honest... it would have been a shame if these cuts never made it to vinyl! one the flip side a slightly more introvert track calles >can you feel it<. on remix duty its nicholas and dj aakmael both doing an excellent job by smoothening things up and take things a bit deeper. proper house music!

an artist usually chooses his (her) name to create an alter ego. this time, its a little different as from one, the artist became five. but christine and the queens is indeed a solo artist. opposite emotions, self-contradictory statements, eclecticism, all things that were roughed out on her two rather confidential first eps, are confirmed on the one shes about to release on because music.
after making quite an impression with his work on items & things, kill the dj, snork entreprises, respoal schallware and correspondant in the last two years, tomas more steps up to release his debut ep on gtcm. this two-part ep provides a unique glimpse into tomas world and the contrasting results his talent produces. part i focuses on the more atmospheric side of tomas sound. heartfelt, genuine, perhaps surprising for some, this release is nonetheless essential as it contains gorgeous original tracks and boundary- pushing remixes from italian new yorker madteo. this guy has simply been last years hero with groundbreaking music released on worlds finest imprints such as hinge finger, wania, trilogy tapes, morphine and a monumental lp on legendary sakho recordings
brother jt is central, pa’s john terlesky whose freewheeling boundless music has been released under many different monikers: brother jt & vibrolux, brother jt3 and most commonly brother jt. he has worked with an impressive roster of tastemakers such as drag city, siltbreeze, birdman, and drunken fish. brother jt is a moniker that finds terleskys songwriting and ample guitar skills taking a decidedly psychedelic form but never deviating too far from the classic song structure.

after the well-received and career spanning compilation that was 2011s ambient selections, john beltran returns with a brand new album entitled amazing things, due for released on delsin records in march 2013.
the story of bonobo is one that has become uncommon in contemporary music. there was no sudden, viral internet sensation, no one-off big hit, no abrupt, accidental alignment with the zeitgeist. instead, over the course of four albums, myriad tours, singles, remixes and production work for other artists, he quietly but very definitely became one of the most important artists in electronic music. the hard work paid off, and culminated in 2010s black sands, a masterful album that married greens inimitable melodic genius and musicianship to bleeding edge electronics, bass and infectious drums.
after a year plus of touring the hypnotic, extended live versions of black sands, he finally found time last year to embed himself in his new york studio and write his fifth studio album. now, in 2013, he stands ready to take things up yet another notch. the north borders is a long stride forward - both a natural evolution and a continuation of the electronic palette of black sands. thematic, resonant, addictive and perfectly formed, it is a thrillingly coherent statement piece.

a triumphant song full of strings & things. eamon & justin liked it so much that they decided to do a dreamier take on the original. alex added ‘ammadomyownthing,’ a slamming, way-off-kilter monster of a track to complete the package.
